Often, I stumble across a new producer who stands out from the crowd and Domaine Saint-André is no exception
Domaine Saint-André is a stunning estate in the heart of the Languedoc close to the city of Sète and Mont Saint Clair, just 2km from the Étang de Thau. The area is well worth a visit, not least to see the oyster farms on the salty lagoon. The proximity of the coast along with clay-limestone soil has a significant and positive impact on the vines with a delicious freshness and salinity in the wines.
The history of the estate goes back a couple of centuries, and in 2002, Inès and Thierry Hébert bought the Domaine and invested heavily in a state of the art winery. In 2020, LGI purchased the 30-hectare estate and it is now overseen by Xavier Roger and Cedric Duquenoy who are producing truly outstanding wines. The 3-Folie d’Ines wines are made in honour of the former owner and are the premium cuvée from Domaine Saint-André.
